About Me

Hello and welcome to my Portfolio!

I'm Pegah, a passionate Data Analyst currently working at Intuit Inc., where I contribute to machine learning and AI-driven projects by analyzing complex datasets and generating actionable insights. Previously, I worked at Apple Inc., where I supported data initiatives across various product lines, collaborating on AI and ML-based solutions that improved product functionality and informed business decisions. My experience spans different types of tech products and companies, giving me a well-rounded perspective in the data field.

I completed my master's degree in Engineering Management with a concentration in Business Analytics and Project Management from Lamar University. During my studies, I gained proficiency in various software and programming languages, including Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc. I also developed skills in data modeling, data visualization, and predictive modeling using Python.

With the guidance of experienced faculty, I deepened my understanding of management and developed strong analytical and communication skills that continue to support my professional growth.

Through my graduate coursework, I built expertise in business intelligence, analytics, and project management, gaining hands-on experience with tools like Python, SQL, Tableau, Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP), SAS, SAP, Salesforce, MS Project, and MS Access. During my Bachelor's program in Computer Engineering, I had the opportunity to collaborate on advanced research projects with professors such as Dr. Alireza Ghonoodi, focusing on algorithm design, and Dr. Homayun Motameni, who served as my thesis advisor. My thesis concentrated on optimizing network traffic management, where I applied complex problem-solving techniques to enhance system performance. These academic experiences significantly honed my analytical and programming skills, with a focus on effective teamwork and collaboration. Additionally, my coursework provided a solid foundation in computer engineering principles, software development practices, and technical communication, particularly through presentations using Microsoft Office tools.

I investigated the world of cosmetic products and their ingredients, focusing on identifying harmful chemicals. Analyzing data from 2009 to 2020, the study unveils the presence of cancer and developmental issue-causing agents in different cosmetic categories. The analysis also tracks ingredient reporting and discontinuation trends, spotlighting industry efforts to address health concerns. The aim is to raise consumer and industry awareness, encouraging safer cosmetics and improved ingredient transparency.

I conducted a thorough analysis of call center data to extract valuable insights regarding its performance. Subsequently, I developed a Power BI dashboard to visualize these analysis outcomes. The dashboard prominently showcases crucial metrics such as customer satisfaction, the balance between answered and abandoned calls, call distribution patterns over different time periods, average response speed, and agent performance trends.

Hotel Data Analysis

I developed a database using MySQL Server and Power BI to analyze hotel booking data and assess guest parking capacity. The analysis allowed me to identify revenue trends and popular booking dates/room types. This information can help the hotel optimize its offerings and pricing strategies. Additionally, by assessing parking capacity, the hotel can improve the guest experience. Overall, the project highlights the importance of data analysis in making informed business decisions.

Global COVID Vaccine Tracker

I created a dashboard using Tableau to track COVID-19 vaccination progress worldwide. The dashboard was built to provide interactive charts, graphs, and maps for visualizing the vaccination data. By applying statistical analysis and data visualization techniques, I was able to identify trends and patterns in the data. The resulting insights are useful in tracking the progress of COVID-19 vaccination efforts globally.

Bike Sales Analysis Dashboard

I analyzed bike sales trends and patterns using Microsoft Excel and created a Bike Sales Dashboard. The dashboard provided valuable insights into customer demographics and preferences based on factors such as gender, income, age, commute distance, and region. My analysis revealed that income and gender play a significant role in bike purchases, with men and people with higher incomes being more likely to buy bikes. I also found that the distance of the commute and region have an impact on bike purchases.

Netflix Financial Risk Analysis

I conducted a financial risk analysis for Netflix using @Risk and Excel. Through Monte Carlo simulations and decision tree and FMEA analysis techniques, I identified potential risks and evaluated the costs and benefits of different financial decisions. The insights gained from this analysis can help Netflix make more informed financial decisions and mitigate risks for long-term success.

I used Microsoft Project to analyze activity duration and predecessors, estimate project completion date, reveal the critical path and slack time, assess project sensitivity, optimize cost using crashing and lags, and adjust project time and duration using crashing and fast-tracking methods.
